The country brand competed alongside entries from countries including Finland, Sweden, the Netherlands, the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The awards ceremony took place this Thursday in London, United Kingdom, as part of the international City Nation Place Global conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;These awards reflect how our country brand connects vision with action. Costa Rica&#8217;s reputation can open doors for our products in international markets while also bringing people closer to the nature conservation efforts that define our country. To achieve this, we work closely with businesses, institutions, communities, and organisations that share this purpose. We are extremely proud to receive these awards on behalf of Costa Rica&#8221;,<\/em> stated <strong>Adriana Acosta, Director of the essential COSTA RICA Country Brand<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The initiatives and efforts that earned essential COSTA RICA these distinctions were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Country Brand of the Year:<\/strong> Recognising its initiatives over the past year under the 2035 Strategy, focused on two priorities: increasing consumer preference for Costa Rican products in key markets and strengthening the sense of belonging among Costa Ricans. With this award, which it first received in 2019, essential COSTA RICA becomes the first country brand in the history of the City Nation Place Awards to earn the Country Brand of the Year distinction twice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Best Citizen Engagement Strategy:<\/strong> For the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esencialcostarica.com\/costaricaazul\/\"><em>Costa Rica Azul<\/em><\/a> campaign, a free interactive platform that promotes awareness and understanding of Costa Rica&#8217;s marine territory and its biodiversity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Honourable Mention for Best Communication Strategy:<\/strong> For the <em>Producers of Wellbeing<\/em> campaign, which promoted Costa Rican agricultural products among consumers in Europe and Asia through a strategy tailored to each market. The initiative featured content across platforms such as Prime Video, Fire TV, and Alexa, in collaboration with Amazon Ads, as well as the use of cultural expressions such as anime to connect with Asian audiences.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;Every year, the City Nation Place Awards recognise initiatives that raise the standards of excellence in place branding. This year, essential COSTA RICA has achieved an extraordinary milestone by becoming the first country brand to receive the Country Brand of the Year award twice. Over the past seven years, it has established itself as an international benchmark for its governance model and values-driven approach. Today, that reputation is being translated into tangible initiatives that bring citizens closer to understanding their marine territory and support exporters in accessing new markets. This strategy demonstrates how a country brand can deliver meaningful results and contribute to national development&#8221;,<\/em> highlighted <strong>Claire Dewhirst, Founder and CEO of City Nation Place<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The three distinctions received this Thursday add to essential COSTA RICA&#8217;s track record of international recognition at these awards.
