with a growing desire to innovate, to start businesses, to specialize, and to stand out.
The literacy rate is 96.1%. We have a high level of university education, not to mention that the INCAE Business School was listed by the Financial Times (2014) as one of the 50 best business schools, and the second best one in Latin America.
Costa Rica is the number two country in Latin America for retaining local talent, and number 15 in the world, according to the World Economic Forum (2013-2014). Additionally, the country is in second place on the Global Innovation Index in the Latin America category, according to a study by Cornell University, INSEAD, and OMPY (2014).
In 2017, the University of Costa Rica (UCR) was in the 411-420 range of the QS World University Rankings, climbing 60 places as compared to the previous year. This educational institution was ranked as the 15th best university in Latin America.
